GWL's Public Affairs Coordinator is an integral member of the Executive Director’s office and the Development and Communications team, providing forward-facing interaction with GWL’s policy and advocacy work, administrative support to the Executive Director, and managing the press relationships of the organization while supporting communications and development, furthering the GWL brand, and advancing communication and fundraising goals. Green Team Leader

We are seeking 8 individuals, 21 or over, with experience in youth development to be responsible for the daily management and supervision of our 2021 Summer Green Team program crews. The Green Team Summer program is a 7-week part-time job and leadership opportunity for 40 high school students in the city of Lawrence to be an integral part of urban agriculture, environmentalism, stewardship, community engagement initiatives, and service-learning.  Full Green Team Leader description here.

The Summer Green Team offers part-time pad positions for high school students from Lawrence to help lead and learn about local environmental and health issues, conduct research, raise awareness, challenge their peers to do community service, and participate in hands-on improvement projects throughout the City and beyond. Urban Adventure Counselor

Ideal Urban Adventure counselors are responsible, intelligent, creative adults 18 years or older with a passion for working with Lawrence youth, both indoors and outdoors. Counselors will lead the delivery of service learning and related topic instruction, guidance, and supervision of youth in accordance with programmatic goals and health and safety regulations as mandated by partner organizations and the state. There will also be a mandatory training period and some curriculum development prior to the summer season. This is a seasonal paid position with 18-25 hr/wk. To be an Urban Adventure Junior Counselor, the applicant should be a responsible, intelligent, creative young adult, 16 years or older with a passion for working with Lawrence youth in the indoors and outdoors.
