- It is the city’s largest open space, with 120 acres of woodland trails and a natural rock face used for climbing
- The Great Stone Dam, Merrimack River, off Route 28 between Canal and Merrimack Streets

Groundwork Lawrence and the City of Lawrence have been awarded $2.6M from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for its Spicket River Revitalization Project. The funds allow for the realization of a decade-long effort to build the Spicket River Greenway, which will link the new and existing parks along the River through the lowest-income areas of Lawrence. Groundwork Lawrence is pleased to announce that the Lawrence Farmers Markets will be open for business beginning Tuesday, July 6. This season, in addition to our market on Wednesdays at Appleton Way, we are offering new markets on Tuesdays from 4-7:30pm at the McGovern Train Station and Saturdays from 9-1 at the Greater Lawrence Family Health Center's Park Street site at the corner of Park and Lawrence Streets. GWL is seeking a Project Manager to lead and implement a variety of landscape and infrastructure improvement projects throughout the City of Lawrence.
