"Elder Services of the Merrimack Valley, Inc. and Lawrence Senior Center will be hosting distribution of the Senior Farmers’ Market Nutritional Program coupons on Wednesday, August 1st at 8:00am – 11:00am, located at 155 Haverhill Street, Lawrence. It will be first come, first serve for eligible seniors. Lawrence elder residents 60 are encouraged to attend the Lawrence distribution site.
The Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program will be distributing 1,300 coupon booklets, a value of $25 per booklet, to the Merrimack Valley. These coupons are distributed among Councils on Aging according to the need in the communities. Lawrence Senior Center is one of seven sites. The other locations are: Billerica Senior Center, Methuen Senior Center, Amesbury Senior Center, Dracut Senior Center, Haverhill Senior Center and Lowell Senior Center. Each recipient will receive a listing of participating certified Farmers Markets and must use their coupons by October 1st, 2012.
The elder must be 60 or older, low – income, and enrolled in one of three low – income assisting programs, such as: Supplementary Social Security Income (SSI) card, Section 8 Housing voucher, and Energy Assistance Program letter to be eligible.
