  • Commonwealth Invests in Lawrence with Multi-Million Dollar Gateway Initiative Grant to Fund River Revitalization

    Groundwork Lawrence and the City of Lawrence have been awarded $2.6M from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for its Spicket River Revitalization Project. The funds allow for the realization of a decade-long effort to build the Spicket River Greenway, which will link the new and existing parks along the River through the lowest-income areas of Lawrence.   • Lawrence Farmers Markets Open for the Season!

    Groundwork Lawrence is pleased to announce that the Lawrence Farmers Markets will be open for business beginning Tuesday, July 6. This season, in addition to our market on Wednesdays at Appleton Way, we are offering new markets on Tuesdays from 4-7:30pm at the McGovern Train Station and Saturdays from 9-1 at the Greater Lawrence Family Health Center's Park Street site at the corner of Park and Lawrence Streets.     GWL is seeking a Project Manager to lead and implement a variety of landscape and infrastructure improvement projects throughout the City of Lawrence. Projects typically include a mix of renovation and new construction of parks, streetscapes, community and schoolyard gardens, and waterfront trails, as well as site planning and design for residential and mixed-use properties.
