Call for Entertainers at the Lawrence Farmers Markets

Calling all musicians, singers, artists, dancers, poets, and entertainers of all kinds…Groundwork Lawrence is looking for acts to perform at our Wednesday and Saturday Farmers Markets. Our markets run:
Sat 10am-2pm on the corner of Lawrence and Park Sts
Wed 9am-4pm on Appleton Way between City Hall and the Court House.

Join the Lawrence History Center to open exhibit, Short pay! All out! The Great Lawrence Strike of 1912. The bilingual exhibit will be taking place on Thursday, January 12, 2012 at 10:00a.m. Everett Mill, 6th floor, 15 Union St, Lawrence. This event is free and open to the general public.

Spicket River Cleanup Site Captain Orientation

Groundwork Lawrence is recruiting site captains for our 10th Annual Spicket River Cleanup. Site captains will be responsible for coordinatiing and overseeing volunterr activities at one of the cleanup sites along the Spicket River.Site captains have to be at the main site on Manchester St Park by 7:00am on Saturday Sept. 24. Orientation for site captains will be held on 2 different days, Tuesday September 20th from 5:30-6:30pm & Thrusday September 22nd from 12:00-1:00pm. You only need to attend one of the orientations.

National Night Out

National Night Against Crime. We would have a family/neighborhood night full of FREE fun, food, music and activities. Come and join us, meet your neighbors, participate in the games, eat (free pizza)!. The police department, fire department and ambulace will be coming around and have displays of their trucks. Don't stay home, come and join us for this great night of free outdoor activities!!!
GWL will be hosting 3 sites: Dr. Nina Scarito Park on Brook St, Manchester Park at 75 Manchester St (behind La Fruteria), Cronin Park on Adler & Poplar Sts.
