Groundwork Lawrence would like to extend a special thank you to Magid for the glove donation we received this summer. Magid graciously donated garden gloves which our Schoolyard Gardeners at Leonard and South Lawrence East Middle Schools are using this fall to plant, harvest, and clean up our gardens, and plastic gloves which our Urban Adventures youth used to do cooking lessons this summer in our Learning Kitchen. Call for Eco-Art celebrating GWL’s 10th Year

What is eco-art?

• It incorporates at least one of the “4 R’s” (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Repair).
• It promotes environmental awareness.
• It educates others about environmental injustice and/or conveys a vision for addressing it.
• It is comprised of environmentally-friendly materials.

This summer Groundwork Lawrence is offering a new Summer Program called the Urban Adventurers in partnership with Mass Aububon for ages 7-12. Please visit our Urban Adventurers Page for more info!

Mass Audubon and Groundwork Lawrence are looking for intelligent, responsible, energetic 16 & 17 year olds to hire as Junior Counselor (JC) staff members for the 2011 camp season. This is a seven week, full-time, paid position. Junior Counselors work 8 hour days, Monday through Friday (40 hours/week). JCs begin the day at 8:30 am and end the day at 5:30 pm and are given an hour lunch break each day. Camp begins July 5th and ends August 12th.

Junior Counselors are expected to:
• Assist the Lead Counselors in delivering camp activities, lessons, and games.
